I know it's been posted everywhere - but I'm oddly weirded out by the NYT story about Chinese WOW "Gold farmers." It all just leads to a kind of surreal image of the future. I am struck by the image that when I am old and poor and looking for work, I will end up with a job washing some Hilton's limo in second life every day.
And who knows - maybe that will be a better job than washing some Hilton's actual limo every day. I don't know. Easier on the back, tougher on the wrists.
Anyway, read this and marvel - Gibson was right: "The street finds its own uses for technology."
